Kings Dene

A well-connected community for North East Essex

Explore the interactive plan below which provides an overview of the vision for Kings Dene.

Please note that this is an illustrative masterplan and is subject to change as the design development and planning process progresses.

Planning for growth in the right way

The proposals will provide:

Up to 6,000 homes, alongside supporting infrastructure to support new and existing residents

A new secondary school and up to three primary schools

District and neighbourhood centres including shops, healthcare and community facilities

A grade separated junction with the A12 and railway bridge, providing opportunities to link to the A120 and Coggeshall Road, relieving existing congestion within Kelvedon

Coggeshall Road: The first phase of development. The first 600 homes proposed off Coggeshall Road are in step with Government policy to accelerate the construction of new homes within 800 metres of well-connected railway stations.

A station quarter, creating a new northern access to Kelvedon railway station with increased parking provision.

Around 40 hectares of employment land creating a jobs-led gateway between the A12 and new community.

Over 300 hectares of landscape infrastructure, including a new country park, enhanced wildlife habitats, play areas, sports pitches, and diverse walking and running routes, delivering significant benefits for nature, wellbeing and recreation.
